Fees/Payment of Fees 2013/14 Fee Schedule Fees are subject to revisions by the NVIT Board each year. Any revisions in fees will come into effect September 1 2013. Application Fee None. Tuition Fees Academic (first & second year levels) and Career/Technical Programs: $77.64 per credit (courses range from 2 to 6 credits each). Academic (third & fourth year levels) Programs: $112.30 per credit (courses range from 3 to 12 credits each).
Access to Practical Nursing and Practical Nursing Programs $80.25 per credit College Readiness Program: College Readiness courses are tuition free. Students must pay any applicable lab fees and the student activity fee (see details following). Seniors (age 60+) Tuition is waived subject to the "Institute Fees, Senior Citizens" policy. *Note: Students must pay all assessed Lab/Studio and Student Activity fees. Additional Program Fees Lab/Studio Fees Science Courses: $30.00 per course Computer Courses: $30.00 per course Student Society Fee: $20.00 per course (max. $60.00 per term and is non-refundable) International Student Fees Tuition per credit: $328.97 (for international students each College Readiness/Adult Basic Education course is considered equivalent to 3 credits for tuition calculation purposes). (Lab and Student Activity fees also required.)
Fee Payment Due Date Payment is due according to the dates specified in the schedule of events. Fees can be paid by cash, Interac® direct payment, cheque*, credit card, money order, PayPal ™, Passport to Education or Letter of Sponsorship from a NVIT recognized sponsor. Registration is not complete until all fees are paid. Administrative Fees NSF Cheque Charge: A $20.00 fee is charged on all dishonoured cheques. Pay Parking: All staff and students must pay for parking at NVIT. The fees are non-refundable and are subject to change at NVIT's discretion. Fees are as follows: Daily: $1.00 (ticket dispenser on-site) Monthly: $18.00 (purchase at NVIT Bookstore) Semester: $65.00 (purchase at NVIT Bookstore) Fax Transmission Service: $1.00 per page for receiving or $2.00 per page for sending. Community Education Fees Courses will be offered for fees which are sufficient to cover all costs of delivery, including administrative overhead charges determined according to Board Policy. Placement Tests Students may be required to take tests, which will help to determine skill levels and aid selection of courses appropriate to their educational backgrounds and abilities. Placement tests are also required for entrance in some courses and programs. Specific fees will be assessed based on the required tests. Refunds Tuition Refund Policy: A signed official withdrawal form and the student's copy of registration must be made availabe to the Finance Office before a refund is processed. The amount of refund will be determined by the following: If the student transfers from a class(es) or programs(s) to another of equal credit value during the first two calendar weeks of classes for any given semester, no additional tution fees will be charged to the student. In the event the student withdraws from a credit class(es) or program(s) and reduces their total number of credit hours during the first two calendar weeks of classes for any given semester, the following shall apply: 100% of tuition fees will be refunded for withdrawals prior to classes starting. 75% of tuition fees will be refunded before the end of the first week of classes. 50% of tuition fees will be refunded before the end of the second week of classes. If the student withdraws within the first two calendar weeks for class(es) which charges a lab fee, a 100% refund will be provided to the sponsor or student as applicaable. No refund for lab fees is available for withdrawals from class(es) which charge lab fees after the end of the second calendar week of class(es) for any given semester. No refunds permitted after the end of the second week of classes. Medical Refund Policy: The student must submit notification from his/her doctor and a completed withdrawal form to the Office of the Registrar for consideration of a full refund by the Manager, Financial Services. This applies to both full and part-time students. Income Tax Receipts An official receipt for income tax purposes will be available on the mynvit.ca portal.
